Title: NTS 09/05/15
Matmos have been a steady source of inspiration for us since we got our hands on a copy of The West in 2000, right at the time when Bjork recruited them to work on Vespertine. Not only their music is brilliant but the ideas and processes behind it are incredibly interesting: from music made with the sounds of medical procedures to an album of sound portraits of historically and culturally important gay figures. We've admired their unique attitude towards art-making for so long that we are especially thrilled to announce their mix for our NTS show this week. Drew and Martin packed 32 tracks in one hour and to honor the death of Tod Dockstader (R.I.P.) the mix starts and ends with music by the american composer of musique concrete.
